LARCEN
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀WHAT IS LARCEN?
• Larcen is Crixia Institute of Mystic Arts’ official sport. It was first created by the founders months before CIMA opened and introduced it to the legacy students, who were the first to play the sport.
• A modified version of the tyro game “Capture the Flag” wherein instead of teams protecting their territory, their flags are instead a part of them and have to strategically capture the enemy flag from their bodies while protecting theirs as well.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀LARCEN DOME
• The Larcen Dome is the official location of play. The dome is located a few miles away from campus ground.
• An enchanted door that leads directly to the dome is located in the main building by the tall grandfather tree.
• The door will only open to the entire student body on official games, other than that it will be locked and exclusive for Larcen team varsity members and Professors.
• The setting of the dome varies each game. It is dependent on what element the previous pillar winner is.
ㅤ‣ For example:
ㅤ ㅤa.) School Year 2009’s first game Horikawa vs Seo had to be played in an open ocean with a deserted island because the previous year’s champion was the Huan pillar.
ㅤ ㅤb.) Since Horikawa won in the first game; they advanced to play with Huan. Their location is now by a windy mountain.
ㅤ ㅤc.) With Seo’s loss, they now have to play against Som in a terrain near a volcano.
ㅤ ㅤd.) School Year 2009’s Finals was Huan vs Som, with Huan in the lead with 230 points; the dome changed its terrain to a rapid waterfall.
ㅤ ㅤe.) Som won the 2009 Larcen League and in the following year, 2010 Larcen League started with Huan vs Seo in a burning forest.
• There are seats encircling and hovering above the dome and each pillar has their own designated spots, in the same positions as their pillar dorms.
• Professors have a special enclosed area in the dome.
• There are locker rooms specifically for Larcen varsity members inside the arena.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀PRO-LARCEN GAMES
• Pro - Larcen games originated after the first legacy batch graduated and decided to set it up as an official sport.
• The first legacy batch managed to hold the first-ever tournaments that went on for five (5) months.
• Pro - Larcen teams come from different countries, countries that are currently competing are South Korea, Japan, China, and Thailand.
• Teams are made up of six (6) members only, they do not require substitutions. Players will also be from different pillars, meaning players will have different elemental abilities
• There are four (4) official Pro - Larcen domes, a country will be chosen to host the year’s season.
• The dome will change terrain for the last player who captured a flag. (A Horikawa player managed to steal capture a flag from the opposing team, the terrain will suddenly change to a mountain)
• Terrains will be much more extreme than CIMA terrains.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀LARCEN ATTIRE
• Players will have the same varsity uniform, colors will vary from pillar colors.
• Both females and males will be wearing the varsity uniform.
• Uniforms have a special material / fabric that can easily adapt to the different terrains
• The sling is a special holder for wands.
• Hand braces and leg braces are optional.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀MECHANICS
• There are four (4) Larcen Teams:
ㅤㅤㅤ◦ Typhoon Huan
ㅤㅤㅤ◦ Earthquake Seo
ㅤㅤㅤ◦ Hurricane Horikawa
ㅤㅤㅤ◦ Blazing Som
• Teams have nine (9) members each, with six (6) on the field and three (3) members on standby as a substitute. Although there are 6 members on the field, there is only one (1) official position which is the Larcen Captain position.
• At the beginning of the round, players will be entering the field from their pillar position (e.g Huan, West). The captain has exactly 10 minutes to position their players, any form of strategy should be done beforehand. The game will start after the first horn.
• Each game will last for an hour, with two rounds each. There will be halftime breaks to let the Captain change their strategies or to solidify a strategy further. Players will deliberate in their locker rooms.
• The main goal of the game is to capture the three (3) flags that are located on their opponent’s body. Flags have three different colors, two (2) solid colored and one (1) duo colored. The colors of the flag are determined from which pillar the player is in (e.g a Som player will have a solid gold and purple flag as well as a color combination of their pillar).
• Each flag captured corresponds to different points:
ㅤㅤ◦ 1 Solid Color Flag = 10 points
ㅤㅤ◦ 2 Solid Color Flag = 20 points
ㅤㅤ◦ 1 Combination Color Flag = 20 points
ㅤㅤ◦ All 6 Combination Color Flag = Wins the game
‣ Using Seo colors as an example:
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ 1 White Flag = 10 points
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ 1 Orange Flag = 10 points
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ 1 White & Orange Flag = 20 points
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ 6 White & Orange Flag = Wins the game
• If the team does manage to steal back a flag of their own, they will gain the points and be added into their score. Teams will only be able to retrieve combination / pillar colored flags to gain points, if they manage to steal a solid colored flag points will not be added.
• Flags can only be placed from the waist up. Teams with members who have flags tied below the waist, on legs, as well as under clothes will automatically be disqualified for the rest of the Larcen season.
• Captured flags must be placed in the player’s body as well, the waist up rules also apply to this.
• If each team does not capture all 6 flags, points will be tallied at the end of the game. If teams get the same score, the game will extend for another fifteen (15) minutes.
• Since players will be on foot, wands are a primary weapon in the field. Players will only have two (2) chances to use their elemental abilities, other forms of spell (such spells used for duelling like stupefy) is strictly prohibited during the game.
• If a player has caused a major injury to another player, the game will be stopped and the two teams will be postponed from playing until further notice or until the player is deemed healthy to play on the field again. Penalties will be given to the offensive player’s team.
• There will be minor and major penalties throughout the games, all have different degrees of penalties that will affect their team’s points or will cancel the Larcen season completely. Players must be aware of their penalties at all times as deductions of points will only be tallied after the game.
ㅤ‣ Minor Penalties include:
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ Exceeding the allowed chances of elemental bending = loses 10 points for each chance (a player exceeds and uses their elemental ability 4 times, they lose 40 points.
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ Major injuries (a player becomes incapacitated, unconscious or gets fractured) = loses 20 points
ㅤ‣ Major Penalties include:
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ Flags waist below = disqualification
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ Cheating of any form = disqualification
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ◦ Using spells other than elemental spells = disqualification
• Disqualified players will need to resign for the rest of the Larcen season, their disqualification is absolute and cannot be taken back by any Professors including Professor Horikawa. Players will still be able to practice in the dome.
